Whatever your aspiration in tench fishing we love to fulfil your fishing dream. Tench and Norfolk have always been synonymous. Back in the 70s, the most famous tench water in the country, The Marsh, was discovered and many similar estate lakes still hold super fish.
Recently, though, the gravel pits have taken pride of place and John’s record of eighteen tench over nine pounds in the last three years is quite extraordinary. Most years now, he and his clients catch literally scores of tench over eight pounds in weight through the months of March, April and May.
The high summer and the autumn see a turn down in numbers but the methods are often more attractive. Now, John turns to margin fishing, stalking fish, looking for bubbling fish, big bags aren’t taken as frequently but the fight of tench close-in on a thirteen foot float rod really is extraordinarily exhilarating.
John has access to eight private pits and lakes where tench fishing is amazing. These are beautiful, serene waters exclusively retained for Angling Travel clients. Here you won’t have to battle for swims or worry about competition from any other anglers.

How do you arrange your tench fishing?
Just email us with a selection of your preferred county, species and dates and the number in your party to confirm availability and once dates are confirmed then we need a booking form and 50% or full payment to confirm your place.
We will send you a confirmation, fishing information and directions by email on receipt of your booking. If this is a present please let us know who it is for and what the occasion is and we will post a gift card to them if you wish.
You need to book your fishing well ahead to get your preferred dates, as John’s diary fills fast.
You can fish alone or gather a small group together. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring a non-fishing partner –these locations offer plenty to do beyond the fishing.
