Norfolk pike fishing, outside Chew Lake, is probably the best in the country at the present moment. John is very fortunate in having nearly a dozen private lakes at his disposal. On some of these waters, it is RARE not to catch a twenty pounder. On one of these waters, John has NEVER failed to catch a twenty pounder. Each year sees some thirties caught – in 2011 top fish was 37 pounds 4!
To make this pike fishing even more special, consider the fact that the majority of these fish come on lures whilst fishing the bank. Throw in the fact that these lakes are exclusive and beautiful and you have one of the best pike packages in the UK today.
John has been leading pike adventures in Norfolk now for 12 years and in all that time never once has a group failed to land a twenty. Once, even though the lakes were iced over a group member took a twenty-one pounder on the point of dusk!
John’s clients catch endless twenties then but also many thirties. In fact, in the last five years, John has banked over fifteen thirties for his friends and clients.
This is wonderful piking on wonderful waters but remember that most of the fish also come to lures of one sort or another. Frequently dead and even live baiting is employed towards the end of the day but the bulk of most sessions are spent on the hoof, exploring water that is next to virgin.
We really believe that this is some of the most extraordinary pike fishing available in the modern age. Aside from big fish, many of John’s waters have huge stocks of smaller fish, too. This makes them ideal for children and for beginners. Only last year, one guest who had never caught a pike managed twenty-seven in a single morning. Another couple of guests fished for tench in the morning and after lunch decided to have a crack at the pike...between two and five, they took forty-eight fish.
Whatever your objective in pike fish, John can satisfy it here in Norfolk on his wonderful waters. You will experience fishing action and excitement, laughter, an adventure to remember forever. Stupendous pike. Waters that are idyllic, private, away from the madding crowds. Take a boat with him up an almost unknown pike river just a mile from the sea. It's a lost, lonely land, a haven for ornithologists and pike men too! Or go with John to a pike lake hidden deep in an old estate. You will fish where fish into double figures proliferate, hope for a twenty and keep your fingers crossed for a thirty, maybe a forty You'll be fishing for pike that have rarely, if ever, been touched. Often up to thirty pounds. Almost like reliving the Broadland experience of the 1960s.
We cannot guarantee particular catches but John seems to make fishing magic happen with great regularity.

How do you book your pike fishing?
Just email us with a selection of your preferred county, species and dates and the number in your party to confirm availability and once dates are confirmed then we need a booking form and 50% or full payment to confirm your place.
We will send you a confirmation, fishing information and directions by email on receipt of your booking. If this is a present please let us know who it is for and what the occasion is and we will post a gift card to them if you wish.
What are your best dates?
Choose Autumn and Winter for pike fishing in Norfolk, add some tench, oach and barbel if you like You need to book your fishing well ahead to get your preferred dates, as John’s diary fills fast.
You can fish alone or gather a small group together. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring a non-fishing partner –these locations offer plenty to do beyond the fishing.
